Art Kibbutz is looking for interns to help with day-to-day work in our offices – Lower Manhattan and/or Riverdale. Candidates must be organized, motivated, interested in ‘pioneering work’ - art, culture, Jewish community, social media - good organizers who are good team players.
Internships and/or part-time staff positions require a commitment of 10 hours a week remotely or at Art Kibbutz’s one of two offices (in Riverdale or Lower Manhattan). Fee: $12/hour.
1. PROGRAMMING AND CURATORIAL ASSISTANT / INTERN
This is a good position for a composed individual who is passionate about Jewish art and wants to learn about business. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about and participate in the production of public events, projects, exhibitions and catalogues.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with general administrative tasks such as assembling and replenishing of press release materials, mass mailings, etc.
- Archiving, research, web updates, and working with art
- Preparing for upcoming open studios, festivals, public art events
- Help staff and volunteers turn a raw space into a professional office, artist residency
- Help organize programming meetings
- Serve as liaison with partner organizations
- Assisting with daily errands
- Assisting in organizing events and exhibitions – on and off site
- Art Sales
2. COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE / INTERN
This is a great opportunity for an eager, young Communications and/or Marketing student to gain hands-on experience in organizational communications and social media management.
Daily tasks include:

- Researching and uploading articles to artkibbutz.org - maintaining and updating the website
- Writing blog posts
- Assisting writing and editing catalogues, articles and other publications
- Copy editing
- Marketing events, residencies and exhibitions
- Assisting in general administrative help and daily errands
- Organize and maintain the Art Kibbutz’s contact lists
- Creating online application and registration system with web developer
- Possibly designing fliers, brochures, ads – not obligatory

- Masters degree or at least one year of a Master’s program – in the case of the latter, you must be currently enrolled
- Experience with the following programs: Microsoft Word & Excel, Outlook, Googledocs, membership systems
- Experience in an office environment & customer service
- Interest in art and Jewish studies
- Professionalism – the work environment is casual, but the right candidate will always conduct themselves professionally no matter the task
- A can-do attitude, and the demonstrated ability and desire to work independently and follow through on a project
