Eugenia Delfini
Eugenia Delfini is an independent curator and writer based in New York. She currently focuses on those practices that question our existence through materials and are able to raise questions about the urgencies and needs of our contemporary society. She is interested in contemporary artistic practices that explore the contamination and limits of languages, seeking to convey a sense of the process rather than the result, experiencing the dilation of the natural boundaries of cultural actions.
In 2009 she co-founded Sottobosco a Venice-based experimental and multi-functional artist-run space that hosts an artists archive, workshops, talks, lectures, and exhibitions. The association’s mission is to produce culture without compromise, to be an incubator of ideas and best practices working between art and everyday life, close to the emerging artists, citizens and contexts.
Delfini has curated a number of exhibitions, including “The Wind From Nowhere,” Eduardo Secci Gallery (Pietrasanta, 2016); “No Place is Far Away,” Ex Slaughterhouse - Unesco Site (2014, Padua); “Displacement Reactions,” Disturb Project Space (Salerno, 2013); “My Favorite Things,” Contemporaneo Gallery (Venice, 2010). Eugenia Delfini has also collaborated with magazines such as Flash Art, Arte e Critica, Arskey and her curatorial experience with Sottobosco is featured in five University Thesis and in books such as “Pratica al Plurale: Milanofficine: progetti, idee, azioni” (Officina Libraria, 2012) and “Terrazza” (Marsilio, 2014).
Delfini will visit Art Kibbutz as a guest curator through our partner organization Residency Unlimited.
