Leah Caroline
Leah Caroline was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in the Chassidic community of Crown Heights. She received her BFA from Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Caroline works with a variety of media-in particular, cyanotype printing, photography, and digital media. She makes large scrolls with the cyanotypes, and creates installations with her work. She has been included in regional exhibits, including solo exhibitions, and has written and illustrated for Chabad.org. She is the founder and artist teacher of the Connecticut Artists’ Beit Midrash and leads art workshops. Caroline currently lives and works in New Haven with her husband and four children. "For Art Kibbutz, I intend to continue my work with cyanotypes as they relate to nature; as well as research the Biblical color tekhelet and use it as an artistic medium. This is her second residency on Governor's Island with Art Kibbutz. Leah is a volunteer-leader of Art Kibbutz who served on our Evaluation Committee. More
