#SukkahWood
Sunday, October 8, 2017 12PM - 4PM Inwood Hill Park (215th and Indian Road, New York) Art Kibbutz is co-sponsoring Chabad of Inwood's Sukkah Wood a one day community arts festival. Artists and designers are commissioned to produce temporary dwelling art installations that stretch the imagination of what a Sukkah can be. According to tradition, a sukkah is a temporary hut in which the Jewish people dwelt to protect themselves from the elements. Sukkah Wood’s message of inclusion and tolerance is universal. It challenges us with questions like “What is a home?” and “How can it be connected to nature?” Art Kibbutz is represented by Asherah Cinnamon and Ali Schrago-Spechler |
#JWF Fellowship
Summer 2017 at various locations Art Kibbutz offered two $500 fellowships supported by the Jewish Women's Foundation of New York to explore women’s issues and gender equality from a Jewish perspective. The fellows are bringing women’s issues of interest to broader audience. This year Shira Dicker and Goldie Gross curators are our two fellows: while Shira curated our Wonder Woman project at the New York Poetry Festival, Goldie Gross is curating an exhibition on Invisible Women.
