Art Kibbutz – the International Jewish Artist Residency – proudly announces a special two week residency program at The Outlier Inn farm in Woodridge, NY for summer 2018. For this program artists may select any topic, while engaging in periodic group discussions encompassing aspects of Jewish tradition and social ethics. We aim to build community, develop common ground, and increase the reach and influence of our art, empowered by our engagement with Jewish culture, history, and spirituality. Applications are welcome regardless of individual identity as Jews or non-Jews.
Applicants selected to the Hamptons residency will have priority. Ongoing until spots filled.
Art Kibbutz supports artists working on their own projects, as well as collaborations with other artists or linked to other communities. Artists are expected to remain for the full duration of the residency.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Art Kibbutz’s Summer Institute in the Catskills will take place at The Outlier Inn, a bucolic 12-acre property in New York state’s southern Catskill mountains, 90 miles from NYC. The Inn offers a peaceful and inspiring respite from life in the Big City. It is a retreat center, an event/workshop/location space, a sustainable fiber and organic vegetable farm, and a world-class recording studio.

Cancelled: Art Kibbutz Summer Institute in the Hamptons
June 26 - July 10, 2018
East Hampton, NY
Due to administrative and staff transitions at the Hamptons Synagogue, we were informed that the synagogue would not be able to host our artists residency. This information came to us this week and took us by surprise. Still, as we have an impressive pool of applicants and numerous offers of alternative locations, we have every intention of hosting our summer residency and are currently seeking a new location.
