Vyt Residency

Art Kibbutz has a wonderful opportunity to expand its programming to a year-round intentional community starting in spring 2018. We are currently negotiating with the Art Students League of New York to purchase space at its prestigious residency, The League Residency at Vyt in Sparkill, Rockland County. Building on the esteemed reputation of Vyt, that has been a working artist residency for eight years, Art Kibbutz is planning to provide living and working space, time for intensive focus, to seventy artists for one to 12 months. This prestigious location will further improve Art Kibbutz’s reputation in the fields of arts and Jewish arts.
Invest
Art Kibbutz is currently raising $500K to purchase the Vyt real estate. According to Rockland County Tax Authority the market price of the real estate is $874,800, according to Zillow $1.7M. Art Kibbutz has the opportunity to purchase the real estate bellow market price as a 501c3 not-profit organization.
Savoy Bank has offered a private loan to Art Kibbutz – we are currently looking for CDs for 5 years (maximum) with annual 2% interest rate. During this time Art Kibbutz is only obligated to pay the interest. Our board members have already pledged $200K towards the CDs. In an unlikely event that Art Kibbutz wouldn’t be able to pay the lease we would be able to sell the real estate at a higher market rate since the bank will not use the real estate as part of the collateral.
Donate
Art Kibbutz is also currently raising money to fund its capital campaign, operations and programmatic expansion. If it is in your heart and means to give - this is the time to do so. Click here to learn more
